Protecting Your Privacy

Privacy legislation came into effect January 1, 2004 and establishes practices for the appropriate collection, retention, use and disclosure of your personal information. Our office understands the importance of protecting your personal information and we are committed to handling this information in a responsible manner. We also try to be as transparent as possible about the way we handle your personal information. It is important to us to provide this service to all our patients.

In this office, Dr. Paynter acts as the Privacy Information Officer.

All Staff members who come into contact with your personal information are aware of the sensitive nature of the information that you have disclosed to us. They are trained in the appropriate uses and protection of this information. Our office will strive to ensure that:

• Only necessary information is collected about you;
• We only share your information with your consent;
• Storage, retention and destruction of your information complies with existing legislation, and privacy protocols;
• Our privacy protocols comply with privacy legislation, standards of our regulatory body, the Ontario College of Chiropractors, and the law.
